Our Story

Hi y’all — I’m Kasie Vestal,
owner and operator of Mae’s Barntique, Ag Teacher at Mason High School, and the heart behind this little Hill Country Barntique you’ve found your way to.

Mae’s Barntique began in 2017, just before my junior year of college at Texas A&M University. What started as a dream quickly turned into a full-time online business that I somehow balanced alongside classes, livestock judging, and building lifelong friendships. Those years taught me grit, gratitude, and the power of a strong support system — and I know without a doubt I couldn’t have done it alone. I graduated from Texas A&M in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, and later earned my Master of Science in Agriculture & Consumer Resources from Tarleton State University in 2021.

My journey led me into the ag classroom in 2022, teaching in Fulshear before life gently pulled me back closer to my roots. Returning to the Hill Country to continue teaching felt like coming full circle — and it didn’t take long to realize Mason wasn’t just where I worked, but where Mae’s Barntique truly belonged. Along the way, Mae’s Barntique grew beyond online sales, opening as a brick-and-mortar alongside other small businesses on Main Street in Fredericksburg, then transitioning through Fredericksburg Trade Days. Each chapter required flexibility, faith, and a whole lot of hard work.

In the summer of 2025, the biggest dream yet became reality: opening my very own brick-and-mortar store right here in Mason, Texas. I am incredibly grateful to call Mason County home — a place rooted in community, hard work, and genuine support.

Mae’s Barntique was built on a passion for entrepreneurship and a love for affordable, quality fashion. I work hard to offer a little bit of everything for everyone, always carrying a large range of sizes for everyone and striving to make every customer feel confident, welcomed, and seen.
